ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR INITIAL COURSE
Any worksite that is set-up within a T3 Possession must have its own ES. They are responsible for setting up the worksite marker boards (with the PICOP’s permission), controlling the works going on, controlling any movements within the site and ensuring safety.
On successful completion of the course the delegate will be able to:
- State the requirements for appointment as Engineering Supervisor.
- State what will be discussed at a pre-planning meeting.
- State the information required by Engineering Supervisor and in which publications they can be obtained.
- State the requirements for effective communications.
- State the basic procedure followed by PICOP when a possession is taken.
- State the requirements and demonstrate the ability to follow the procedure for authorising work to start, including the effective recording of information.
- State Rule Book sections and requirements for setting up a safe worksite.
- State requirements for safe and efficient train movements.
- State the requirements for change over of personnel and demonstrate the ability to follow correct procedures including correct recording of information.
- State the requirements for suspending or handing back a worksite and demonstrate the ability to follow those procedures including correct recording of information.
You must bring with you:
- Your valid sentinel card (with current COSS competence).
- Up to date Rule Book
Please also ensure that your medical and drug and alcohol screen are valid and in date.

Failure to bring the required documentation may mean under current rules that you will be unable to undergo the training.
Delegates may not consume alcohol at any time during the course or for 8 hours prior to any training session. Failure to comply will result in immediate dismissal from the course.
