PTS INITIAL COURSE

The basic PTS competence is the first step to working in the railway industry, a 2 day course including a site visit to the live railway to give the candidate a basic understanding of safety within the rail industry and allow them to work on or near the line.

You must bring with you:

  • A valid medical certificate from a recognised provider  

  • A drug and alcohol screening from a recognised provider

  • Full orange PPE, hard hat and safety boots

  • Photo ID and proof of your National Insurance Number

  • 2 passport sized photographs

Failure to bring the required documentation may mean under current rules that you will be unable to undergo the training.

Delegates may not consume alcohol at any time during the course or for 8 hours prior to any training session. Failure to comply will result in immediate dismissal from the course.
